Tears of Joy brings up win number four

 Street Cry mare Tears of Joy claimed her third win in four starts when she posted a typically determined display at Moonee Valley on Monday.

The four-year-old had fought back ferociously in her first win for the preparation at Geelong in January and won her next start at Sandown where her competitive qualities were again on show. A third place to Rather Heroic at Moonee Valley, where she found herself unsuited in the lead, prevented a hat-trick, but she turned the tables on that mare on Monday recording a convincing win albeit by just a neck.

The win, her second at metropolitan level, brought Tears of Joy overall record to four wins and nine placings from nineteen starts.

A daughter of Street Cry, champion sire of Winx and the Kavanagh trained pair Whobegotyou and Shocking, Tears of Joy is a member of one of the most famous families in the Australasian stud book. She descends in direct female from the esteemed broodmare Eight Carat - the bloodstock world's equivalent of royalty.

Tears of Joy's dam Lucida was herself a stakes winner and her grandam the wonderful stakes winning filly Peruzzi is a sister to Derby winner Don Eduardo and three quarter sister to Octagonal, Mouawad, Shower of Roses, Tristalove (dam of Viking Ruler) and Antwerp (dam of Viscount).
